EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR TRAINING
- Identify the signals of anaphylaxis.
- Describe the care given to a person experiencing anaphylactic shock.
- Describe the appropriate assessment and documentation of the person’s response to an epinephrine auto-injection.
- Describe how to report the event of an allergic reaction and your care to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel.
- Demonstrate appropriate handling, use and disposal of an epinephrine auto-injector.
- Describe appropriate documentation.
Certification: Epi-Pen (valid for 1 year)
Prerequisites: Participants must have CPR (or equivalent) certification issued within the past year and should be at least 13 years old in order to take this course.
ASTHMA INHALER TRAINING
This course teaches participants the skills and knowledge necessary to recognize and provide care to a person experiencing an asthma attack until advanced medical personnel arrives and takes over. This module includes the demonstration of a bronchodilator.
- Identify the signals of asthma.
- Describe how to report the event of an asthma attack and your care to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel.
- Describe the care given to a person experiencing an asthma attack.
- Demonstrate the use of an inhaler.
Certification: No certificate issued

CHOKING PRESENTATION
Basic skills, such as knowing what to do if someone is choking, save lives.
While you can’t predict when an emergency will occur, you can be prepared. In less time than you think, American Red Cross training can give you the vital knowledge and skills you’ll need to respond to a life-threatening situation with confidence.
