What is an Authorized Provider?
An authorized provider is an organization that enters into a contractual agreement with the American Red Cross to provide Red Cross training within their organization or business. In exchange for providing their own instructor, usually an employee, authorized providers are allowed significantly reduced training rates and fees by the American Red Cross.
Why become an Authorized Provided?
By becoming an authorized provider, you can build your own training team to teach courses to employees of your business or members of your organization whenever and wherever you want, all for a much lower cost and greater convenience than attending chapter classes.
As an authorized provider, you can focus on training. The American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area will handle many of the administrative chores including issuing certificates, processing orders for training materials and equipment, maintaining records and providing instructors with guidance and training updates. The American Red Cross also offers web resources for current instructors at Instructor Corner.
Which courses are available to my organization as an Authorized Provider?
A broad range of training options and modular course designs allow you to build the first aid and safety programs that are right for your specific training needs. Any program that the American Red Cross offers – both nationally and locally developed courses – is available to be taught through the authorized provider program. Available courses include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Adult, Infant and Child CPR
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- First Aid
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer
…and much more!
Instructor training classes, which are offered on a regular basis at the chapter office, will help train your employees by expanding their teaching skills and technical expertise.
To make it even easier for you, if at least six participants can commit to a 16-hour course time frame, we will schedule an instructor training at the location of your choice.
