Training for Emergencies in Wilderness and Remote Environments
The new 16-hour American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is ideal for youth leaders and other employees who work in wilderness and other remote environments an hour or more from EMS response, including camps, treks and canoe trips.
Wilderness and Remote First Aid Topics:
• Head (Brain), Neck and Spinal Injuries
• Wounds and Wound Infection
• Hypothermia
• Heat-Related Emergencies
• Allergies and Anaphylaxis
• Altitude-Related Illnesses
• Bone and Joint Injuries
• Burns
• And more…
Prerequisites: Course participants must be 14 years of age and possess current certification in Adult CPR/AED.
Class Locations: All classes meet at the Red Cross office at 1100 River Drive, Moline (across from the i wireless parking lot) unless otherwise noted
Class Fee: $85 (includes 2 days of training & text books)
